We have made an improvement to Helpful Games! Your results are now automatically saved on your device – even if you are not logged in. This means you can continue collecting knowledge points and medals the next time you return, as long as it is within 7 days.
How does it work?
When you play without being logged in, a temporary anonymous user is created in the background. It is linked to your game results and saved in a cookie on your device. The results are saved for up to 7 days and are automatically deleted after that.
If you log in to a student account during that time, your anonymous results will automatically be transferred to your account, so you won’t lose anything you’ve done.
Important to know
- The results are completely anonymous – we do not save any personal information and cannot see who has played. The cookie is only used to link your game results to your device.
- The data is only used to display your own points and medals on Helpful Games.
- After 7 days without activity, the anonymous link is deleted, and the results are then removed.
- You can delete all saved results yourself at any time by going to Your Results and clicking the “Delete all results” button.
- You can also delete the result for a single game directly on the game page by clicking “Delete game results” (the button is located to the right of the “Share” button).
Why are we doing this?
We want to make learning easier and more fun, even without logging in. At the same time, we comply with the rules of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That’s why the information is only saved anonymously without personal data, for a limited time, and you always have full control over it.
In short:
You can now continue where you left off – even without logging in! Your results are saved anonymously on your device for at least 7 days and can be deleted whenever you want.
