We continue to develop Helpful Games AI and are excited to announce that AI explanations are now available for even more game types!
What’s New?
Previously, students could get AI-generated explanations on game levels with multiple choice questions and free text answers. We have now expanded the feature to also include:
- Memory
- Link up (Match pairs)
- Cloze Test (Fill in the blanks)
This means students can get help understanding their mistakes in even more of our popular game types!
How Does It Work?
Just like before, Helpful Games AI works by analyzing the questions and creating pedagogical explanations tailored to each question. When a student answers a question incorrectly, they can immediately get an explanation that helps them understand what they missed.
The explanations are saved in the system after the first generation, so that both you and other students can access the same explanation without it counting as a new generation.
Limitations Remain
Please note: If questions have media attached to them (e.g. image, video or audio file), it is not possible to get an explanation.
How Many Explanations Can I Get?
- Free users: 2 new explanations per session
- Plus members: 10 new explanations per session
Remember that a generation only counts when it’s a completely new explanation being created. If the explanation already exists in Helpful Games, you can read it as many times as you like without it counting as a new generation!
For Game Creators
As a teacher and game creator, you continue to have full control over the explanations in your games! You can generate new explanations and edit existing ones to adapt them to your students’ needs – now also for memory, match pairs and fill in the blanks.
Why Is This Good?
With AI explanations available for more game types, students have even more opportunities to learn from their mistakes directly in the game flow. This makes playing even more educational and allows students to develop while they play – regardless of which game type they choose.
