Instructions for Verbs - Simple Present
In these exercises you will get the chance to practise the simple present verb tense. The rules for simple present in English goes like this:
I + base verb (ex. talk, sing, dance)
You + base verb (ex. talk, sing, dance)
She + base verbs + s (ex. talks, sings, dances)
He + base verb + s (ex. talks, sings, dances)
It + base verb + s (ex. talks, sings, dances)
You + base verb (ex. talk, sing, dance)
We + base verb (ex. talk, sing, dance)
They + base verb (ex. talk, sing, dance)
If the verb ends in a vowel, add -es to make it into the third person form (do - does, go - goes)
If the verb ends with an e though, simply add -s (regular) to make its third person form (stare - stares)
If the verb ends in ch, sh, z, x or ss, add -es to make it into the third person form (watch - watches, mix - mixes)
If the verb ends in a a consonant + y, change the y to -ies to create the third person form (worry - worries)

Cloze test - The level consists of 1 cloze text. In the game, the student is presented with 1 question texts where certain parts (words or numbers) are hidden. These words or numbers have been replaced by fields where the student must either fill in the correct word, or select the correct word from a list. Sometimes, there's a question mark
? after the blank - if the player clicks on it a hint will be shown. The student has 3 attempts to write the correct word in the game's blanks. A cloze text usually requires the reader to understand the context of the text in order to fill in the blank with the correct word. It may therefore be necessary to read the text several times. There is no time limit. When the student has filled in all the blanks correctly, the game round is complete. If any blank is too difficult, the student can click the
Cancel button - this shows all the correct answers to the gaps - and the player can try to complete the cloze text again.
Calculation of knowledge points
Each completed game level gives 1 knowledge point in Verbs - Simple Present. The maximum number of points (5 knowledge points) is achieved when you pass all 5 levels. You'll get a bronze medal when you complete a level 2 times and a silver medal after 5 completed rounds. A gold medal will be received after 10 completed rounds. In Verbs - Simple Present, the maximum number of collectable gold medals is 5. You only earn knowledge points for levels that has not been cleared before. A cleared level has a green background above. Even when you have completed a level, you can continue practicing at that level, but it gives you no more knowledge points.
