Instructions for Words ending in -ible

Let's play a word game where we practice English words that end with -ible! These endings usually make adjectives that mean "able to be..." Practice, practice, practice. Practice makes perfect until you can remember these words whenever you see them!

1. Guess the -ible word

Guess wordGuess word - The level consists of 10 words, but a maximum of 1 word are practiced per game round. Here the student has to find the word or sentence by suggesting letters from the alphabet. If the suggested letter is in the requested word, the letter is filled in at all the right places in the letter slots. If the letter is not in the word then a heart breaks. If the player can guess the right letters and find the word before all the 3 hearts run out, the round is won. If the player needs a little help, there's a button to get a clue to the word. There is no time limit. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button named Cancel - then the correct word will be displayed - and then try to complete the level again.

2. Find the -ible words!

Letter gridLetter grid - The level consists of 9 words and all are practiced every game round. The player is shown a board consisting of letters in a grid and must drag the mouse pointer or finger over the letters until a word is found. The words to be found are placed on the board as readable words and they are listed with hidden letters next to the board. If the student manages to find all the words, the game is won. There is no time limit. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button named Cancel - then the correct words will be displayed - and then try to complete the level again.

Link upLink up - The level consists of 9 questions and all are practiced every game round. The player's task is to link the 9 questions in the colored boxes with the most appropriate answers in the white boxes. Each colored box can only be linked to one white box and vice versa. The student receives feedback on the links before submission and has 3 attempts to get all the links right. There is no time limit. When the student has linked all the boxes correctly, the game round is completed. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button named Cancel - then the correct links are displayed - and then try to complete the level again.

4. Memorize -ible words

MemoryMemory - The level consists of 10 pairs (consisting of identical words paired with each other) and all are practiced every game round. The student's task is to find two cards that match. If two matching cards are found, they are removed from the board. The game is finished when all 10 pairs of cards have been found and the memory has no cards left. There is no time limit. If it is too difficult, the player can click the button named Cancel - then it will show which pairs of cards match - and then try to complete the level again.

5. Mirabel and the Hag (Cloze test)

Cloze testCloze test - The level consists of 1 cloze text. In the game, the student is presented with 1 question texts where certain parts (words or numbers) are hidden. These words or numbers have been replaced by fields where the student must either fill in the correct word, or select the correct word from a list. Sometimes, there's a question mark ? after the blank - if the player clicks on it a hint will be shown. The student has 3 attempts to write the correct word in the game's blanks. A cloze text usually requires the reader to understand the context of the text in order to fill in the blank with the correct word. It may therefore be necessary to read the text several times. There is no time limit. When the student has filled in all the blanks correctly, the game round is complete. If any blank is too difficult, the student can click the Cancel button - this shows all the correct answers to the gaps - and the player can try to complete the cloze text again.
